    Environmental Factors Affecting Skin

There are several factors that can take a toll on your skin so you need to be especially aware of what they are and how they play a role on how you skin looks and feels.  Here are just a couple of things to be aware of.

Sunlight -  UV is the major cause of texture changes, pigmentation such as freckles or solar lentigo. Thickening or thinning of the skin. Blood vessels which become thinner that can lead to bruising with only a minor trauma in sun exposed areas and telangiectasias which are tiny blood vessels especially on the face.

Cold & Wind - In the winter you may notice dry itchy skin which is a result of your skin responding to increased oil production to compensate for the weather's drying effects. Drink lots of water and use a good moisturizer to ease some of the symptoms.
